Insurance
The insurance portion of the BMFA or SAA membership fee provides protection for the pilot against any neglegence or accidents to third parties.Note it does not insure your model. Presently the level of insurance has been increased by the BMFA/SAA to £10M and this level will be required if you wish to fly at any site. which is MOD property. The BMFA and SAA also reperesent model flyers in the UK and negociate on our behalf with the CAA and other goverment bodies.
Presently serior membership for the BMFA is £28 and £27 for the SAA
Club Membership
Club membership is presently £50 for a senior, £45 for members over 60 years of age. Junior members are presenty £10 but if joining with a parent or guardian who also joins thenthe junior membership is only £1.
Balbedie operates a Protection of Children and Vunerable Adults scheme where certain members of the club have disclosures. However we normally like the parent or guardien to be present during flight training. Juniors should not be left at the flying site with no guardian , parent or other appropriat adult present. If a junior is to be brought to the flying site with an adult who is not the parent or legal guardian then a leter to that effect should be provided to the Welfare Officer of the Club
