Balbedie Main Events Held at our Site

The main event held at our site this year start with our open Scale day which is held in May. This is followed by our Biggest event which is held in June the dates nearest the longest day. This event hence named the Midsummers Extravaganza take over the whole weekend from Friday to Sunday evening . A buffet evening with great entertainment is provided on the Saturday evening for a small cover cost. Adequate space for camping and caravans is available. This is really an event not to miss with great flying and freindly atmosphere. Next we have our Warbirds day in July. As normal all these events held at the Balbedie site are completely free so come along and enjoy these days with us.

Loch Leven Splash-in

The only event the club runs off site and the only event we are forced to maks a small charge for to cover costs. Waterplanes on the shores of Loch Leven with plenty of parking close to the flying. The event is held over a weekend in August and with a venue which gives great waterplane flying this is one those interested in waterplanes should not miss. Thie event has now been running for more than ten years and just keeps getting better every year . Held from Kirkgate park in the middle of Kinross with wonderfull views and easy access this is one not to miss. Loch Leven is however a site protected for its bird life and its historic heritage and obviously there are rules we need to observe. Please come along and enjoy this great event but please undrstand that we must abide within the rules which are a condition of allowing this event to take place. that said this is a superb event which you will all enjoy and have some great waterplane flying. You may have seen in the press recently that Kevin Rouledge and Colin MacLean had a first with a large Aero Tow Glider from taken off ftom the water at this event last year. So come along and join us in August this year. See links for more
